The Denver Nuggets finished 12th last season in the Western Conference. Danilo Gallinari was hurt for almost the whole year as well. It was a disappointing season for the Nuggets as sometimes they even looked like they did not want too even play. They finished with a 30-52 record and a 7th pick in the 2015 Draft which they used to draft point guard Emmanuel Mudiay.
They brought over a 2016 1st round pick, cash, Nick Johnson,
Kostas Papanikolaou (waived), Joey Dorsey (waived), and Pablo Prigioni (waived) from the Houston Rockets in exchange for Ty Lawson and a 2017 second round pick. That means Emmanuel Mudiay will get the starting job and he has a veteran in Jameer Nelson on the team to show him the way and help him get settled on and off the court. Danilo Gallinari will be at full strength for next season and they still have Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler on the team. Also, they have an intruiging big man named Jusuf Nurkic as well.
Nuggets can be competitive, but not nearly competitive enough for a playoff spot, but are also looking quite good for the future as long as Kenneth Faried turns it around this season and everyone remains healthy. Under new head coach Mike Malone, things are looking a little better in the Mile High City. For now, they are ranked #26 in my NBA Power Rankings. Trending: Upwards.
