My Golden State Warriors NBA Ranking + Trending Upwards/Downwards/Neutral for Upcoming Season

The Golden State Warriors were HOT last season. They finished with the best record in the NBA at 67-15 and the #1 seed in the NBA Playoffs for the Western Conference. Point guard Stephen Curry won MVP for the regular season as he averaged 23.8ppg, 7.7 apg, and 4.3rpg while shooting .487% from the field, .443% from the 3pt line and .914% from the free throw line, almost joining the 50-40-90 club (50% from field, 40% from 3pt line, 90% from free throw line).

The Golden State Warriors swept Anthony Davis and the 8th seeded New Orleans Pelicans in the 1st round. They moved on to face the 5th seeded Memphis Grizzlies led by Marc Gasol. After a hard fought 6 game series, the Golden State Warriors advanced, winning 4-2. Now they faced James Harden and the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals. The Rockets were able to take 1 game from the Warriors but the Warriors advanced without too much of a problem, 4-1. Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. The Cavaliers were without Kevin Love in this series as he got hurt in the 1st round and was forced to miss the rest of the playoffs. Warriors took game 1 in overtime, 108-100. Cavaliers were faced with another devastating blow as Kyrie Irving fractured his knee cap in that game and he would miss the rest of the playoffs as well. All looked bleak for the Cavs, until they took Game 2 and 3 with scores of, 95-93 (OT) and 96-92 in Game 3. Warriors were faced with a 2-1 deficit. The injuries were too much for the Cavaliers to overcome as the Warriors won the next three games by scores of 103-82, 104-91, and 105-97. The Golden State Warriors were your 2015 NBA Finals champions. Andre Iguodala was awarded the NBA Finals MVP for his work on LeBron James defensively and for averaging 16.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 4.0apg and shot .521% from the field and .400% from the 3pt line.

The Golden State Warriors traded the rarely used David Lee to the Boston Celtics for Gerald Wallace and Chris Babb and then shipped Gerald Wallace to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for forward Jason Thompson. The Warriors lost no one else of significance and gained rookie Kevon Looney in the NBA Draft who averaged 11.6ppg and 9.2rpg for UCLA in 2014-2015. The Golden State Warriors are still going to be a scary team so that is why I have them trending upwards. Another year of these guys playing together is only going to better this team. I have them ranked #1 coming into this new season.
