The Washington Wizards finished with a record of 46-36 at the end of last season. That’s good enough for a win percentage of .561% and the 5th seed in the NBA Playoffs. They were tasked with facing the 4th seeded Toronto Raptors led by Kyle Lowry. The Raptors struggled the entire series and it shows since they were swept, 4-0. Washington then advanced the play the #1 seeded Atlanta Hawks. The Wizards put up a good fight but the Hawks were ultimately too much as the Hawks won the series 4-2.
The offseason for the Wizards was a relatively quiet one. Paul Pierce left the Wizards to go play for his old coach from Boston in Los Angeles, Doc Rivers. They will attempt to duplicate his production with rookie Kelly Oubre Jr., Jared Dudley, and Alan Anderson. I do not see the Wizards improving much from last season. Not enough to make it deep in the playoffs. Pierce was one of their better players in the postseason and he’s gone now. I have the Washington Wizards trending the same and I have them ranked #12 coming into the new season. P.S. This offseason was pretty quiet but there’s this guy named Kevin Durant who happens to be the 2nd best player in the NBA when healthy that might make his move to his hometown of Washington next offseason..
